Groom principals Xavier Baker and Lisa Campbell will present at the BlueCross BlueShield Association (“BCBSA”) Law, Audit, Compliance & Ethics Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference will take place May 18 through May 21, 2025.
- Lisa Campbell will join the panel, “The Twists and Turns of MHPAEA Compliance,” on May 19 at 9:45 a.m. CT. The panel will include a MHPAEA update, a review of the lawsuit challenging MHPAEA final rules, and what could come from the Trump Administration.
- Xavier Baker will lead the session, “Medicaid Managed Care, Gender-Affirming Care, and the Trump Administration,” on May 20 at 1:15 p.m. CT. Baker will cover the evolving legal landscape surrounding Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care, including state and federal restrictions, ongoing constitutional challenges, and executive policy shifts. He will also explore how Medicaid’s availability and comparability requirements intersect with these restrictions, recent case law developments, and the implications for Medicaid managed care organizations.
